All systems go for $100 million Airport Upgrade
Its up and away for the Gold Coasts Airport upgrade. The new look Airport will be almost double the size and able to handle twice as many passengers.
Airport Chief Paul Donovan said " It going to be one of a kind. What we want to do is bring the Gold Coast inside the Airport so the holiday experience starts the moment you step off the plane."
Last year, Tiiger Air and AirAsia X began flights in and out of the Gold Coast and in December a record 374,000 passengers passed through the airport. The Gold Coast is well placed with easy access to Brisbane International Airport and now direct flights into their own airport at Coolongatta.
